For more than 30 years, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, St. Louis Chapter has provided children who suffer from asthma and allergies with life-saving medications, equipment, and educational support. St. Louis flagship program, Project Concern, was created to help fulfill that need. Educational programs such as The Essentials of Asthma, specifically for childcare providers, and The ABC's of Asthma/Allergies, can be tailored for any age group presentation and are given throughout the year.
Instrumental in passing the legislation for school nurses to stock rescue medications for any child who may suffer an asthma attack, lead the foundation to create a school nurse program available to all schools in the state of Missouri. Nebulizers, tubing, spacers, peak flow meters and albuterol are available to any school in need in Missouri.
Food Allergy Panel meetings are being held several times each year to assist families in navigating the world of food allergies in the work place, schools, restaurants and at home.
