DESCRIPTION:During National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month\, we also focus on food allergy awareness. \nA food allergy occurs when the body’s immune system sees a certain food as harmful and reacts by causing allergic symptoms. Foods that cause allergic reactions are allergens. \nAbout 20 million people in the U.S. have food allergies (16 million adults and 4 million children). We commonly hear about children with food allergies. But people can develop a food allergy at any age. Many adults develop food allergies even without a prior history of allergies. \nThere is no cure for food allergies. The only way to prevent an allergic reaction is to avoid the food you are allergic to. DESCRIPTION:Valerie Vison was a beloved wife\, daughter\, sister\, co-worker\, and friend. She tragically lost her battle with mental health in 2024. Her husband of more than a decade passed a few years prior due to an asthma attack in their home. After his passing\, Valerie was passionate about funding for asthma advocacy. They are why we’re partnering with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) to host the inaugural The Valerie – Shining a Light Golf Tournament. \nJoin us on Friday\, May 29\, at Braemar Golf Course in Edina\, Minnesota. Shotgun start is at 8 a.m.\, followed by a luncheon and awards at noon after golf. We would love to see you. All are welcome! If you are unable to attend\, you can make a donation. \nAll donations will go to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA)\, which is the leading patient organization for people with asthma and allergies.
