Congressional Briefing: National Asthma Control Program

AAFA has long advocated for increased funding and support for the CDC’s National Asthma Control Program (NACP). On World Asthma Day 2024, May 7, we will be co-hosting a congressional briefing. Asthma and Allergy Caucus Co-Chairs, Representatives Dingell and Valadao, will lead the briefing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the NACP.

The briefing will share 25 years of progress, how funding helps states reduce the burden of asthma, and reveal a new tool on extreme heat and its impact on asthma management. Representatives from AAFA will be in attendance, and we will be sharing live updates from the event on our social platforms.

The co-hosts will be the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), the American Lung Association (ALA), the Allergy and Asthma Network (AAN), the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI).  CDC’s National Center for Environmental Health Director, Dr. Ari Bernstein, will also be speaking.
