World Asthma Day 2026

The Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) celebrates World Asthma Day 2026 with the theme of “Access to anti-inflammatory inhalers for everyone with asthma – still an urgent need.” GINA continues to emphasize the need to ensure that all people with asthma can access inhaled medications that are essential for controlling the underlying disease and treating attacks.
On World Asthma Day, AAFA will host a press briefing at the U.S. Capitol and visit congressional offices to call attention to challenges faced by people with asthma and allergies.
We will be asking Congress to take action on:
- More affordable asthma and allergy treatments
- Better health care coverage
- Reduced barriers to health care
- Guidelines, regulations, and oversight to support healthy spaces
- Federal investment in asthma and allergy programs and research
